3 Trail Routes Every Foreign Runner Should Try In Dushanbe
Looking for the best trail running routes in Dushanbe? Here are 3 scenic and challenging trails every runner should experience, from beginner-friendly paths to mountain adventures.
Alright, time to build and maintain best trail running, hiking source (later I will dedicate special section) for all the visitors of Dushanbe or even locals who haven’t much explored the city. I will be actively creating and reviewing places I have been. Believe me, I have run many miles and those strides took me to places of wonders (by the way check out my👉🏻 Strava Dashboard, if you haven’t yet. Better get your own running stats dashboard). I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.
Without further ado, let’s go!
VICTORY PARK
Ok. This one is no brainer. Close to the city downtown and hotels around it. Offers one of the best views to the city but comes with relatively medium elevation gain like all trail routes do. If you absolutely hate uphills, I don’t know why you are getting into trail running. Trail running is about hills and getting to the best places and views that road running can’t match. Here are some stats:
🏁Start: Near Pivzavod (you can park your car near convenience store, which I often do)
If you are short of time or beginner, you can run this route until 2km which gives great city view and return back the same route.
Be aware that during summer after 1 km trail becomes very dusty. If you are anything like me who loves dirty and all the fun that comes with it, you will love it. You can always wash your shoes but memories of dust and fun you had will stay forever.
KALENIN’S HILLS
One of the best in terms those runners who prefer cleaner roads without those dusty shoes that Victory Park is, though there are very few cars so it is more like trail. You have a chance to get into hills and offers best option for those wanting to see glimpses of city and nature.
Mountains around the city and Three Dushanbe peaks prominently can be observes: Chorbed peak, Guskhor peak and Surkhnu peak. The one in this picture is Chorbed on the left side of the picture.
Here are stats for you, the runner:
🏁Start: take taxi to Kalenin’s graveyard (you pass the end of the graveyard)
Road condition is like this. It feels as if you are running in a specially designated running park where you and your space with absolute tranquility.
I usually pick up liter and trashes along the way because some people throw away their plastic bottles and it makes me sad to see my running route in such condition. I hope government can install cameras (which they already started, i noticed couple cameras) and fine those individuals who liter such a beautiful nature.
JAYRABOOLOK
This one is located near my house and I love how with little time I can get +100 meters of elevation gain. You start near Relax supermarket and start gradual uphill through the street until you get to the gravel road.
If you like all nature with no road but trail path, then this is for you.
🏁Start: take taxi to KFC 112k micro district (Relax supermarket)
This one with the most elevation gain but the unique thing about this route is that you get really wide open view both to the city and the mountains.
You get the idea. It’s just like those computer Windows 95 wallpaper, especially during March, April and May. After that, it’s all yellow because grass gets grilled in our summer heat 😅
Anyway, will be focusing more on sharing valuable information in my website/blog.

What began as nothing more than a spark of a thought has now taken shape before us, alive and undeniable. We didn’t just imagine it, we lived it, we felt it, and we proved that a simple idea can become something powerful when we dare to believe in it. This journey reminds me that every dream starts quietly, almost invisibly, yet with courage, effort, and heart, it grows into something that touches our lives and inspires us to keep reaching for more.
At the top of the Double Pass (northern), my brother Firuz asked me about our estimated plan of when we will be reaching the finish. Based on the information we had, I said: “Best plan is we reach by 7 PM, given or taken plus/minus 1 hour.” Little I knew how things could go wrong so fast.
