As you know from my previous post, three month ago I purchased new running shoes Saucony Guide 15. It has been a bag of mixed experiences 😎 and I want to share with you what I liked 👍🏻and what I didn’t 👎🏻like about this shoe 👟.
I ran 1196.6 km with this shoe. Manufacturers recommended to replace a shoe after 500-7oo kilometers 🙄 I ain’t got lot of money to buy a new shoe that fast 😅 Although early sign of tear appeared in about 500 kilometers 😕, meh, I kept running with this shoe. Partly because I wanted to see how many kilometers I can run with this shoe until it effected my run 🙈Of course, if I wanted to I can still keep running in this shoe until the bottom of the shoe completely detaches from the upper part of it 🙂 but I am not that kind of ruthless person.
This is how it looks now after all those miles.
As you can see, I like dirty and beaten up shoes. For me it shows their authenticity 😘
So, here what I didn’t like about this shoe: 1. Don’t wear this shoe even in the slightest rain 😕. The tip of this shoe is just weird😬. When you walk, not even run, in a road with slightest rain or after rain, it just throws all the 💧water to the tip of the shoe. So you immediately get your feet wet😩. It was very surprising on the day when I came out after a rainy day, roads were fine, perhaps small puddle here and there but i was running in a “almost” dry road. It somehow finds 💦moister and throws it to the tip of the shoe😠. This is the most irritating this about this shoe. 2. Not that soft that I originally expected🙃. On my first run, it felt it had more cushioning but after couple of runs, I knew this was a type of shoe that isn’t on the top of my list. It’s not in par with my favorite UltraBoost 20 or Triumph 18 shoes but it’s okay. 3. On rainy 🌧days, yes I don’t care if it’s raining cause I have to run all the time 😃, the sole of the shoe slides and starts to partially come out 😲from the back of the shoe. I have tried different socks because I thought maybe problem was with my socks 🧦, but no. Maybe sole needs a little grippiness on the bottom, I don’t know. It didn’t happen one time, that’s why I am brining it as part of cons of the shoe.
The things I like about this shoe. 1. Toe box is roomy ☺and my feet never felt squeezed👍🏻. Before purchasing this shoe, I read a lot of reviews and all of them said it has wide toe-box and I can attest that’s 💯 true. If you have wide feet like me, then you feel comfy in this shoe. 2. I was worried about my ankle being tight where the laces are but thankfully it didn’t pressure my ankles and I ran comfortably😇. 3. Price 💲. I found this shoe with a good discount (820 TJS ~80 USD). It’s certainly not a great shoe but worth it’s price. Although, I wish I could get more mileage out of this shoe but the tear on left pair of the shoe started to affect my running😬, so I decided I better retire them and keep them along my other retired shoes.
With all being said, I recently purchased new Adidas Duramo 10 shoes. Look down 😃
Again, hoping I will not get disappointed with Adidas (like I did with UltraBoost 21), this also turned out to be so stiff 😌that after couple of runs, I now just use them as walking shoes🚶♂️. Well, they say “you get what you paid for”😂. I bought this for 25 USD (discounts included - yeah, who doesn’t love discounts? 😆) + 30 USD delivery = 55 USD (around 600 TJS). Not worth at all. I won’t deep dive into this shoe cause it just doesn’t worth my time 😂
‼I think if I am going to purchase a shoe next time, I won’t look into cheap category because it does not worth money or time.
I am not afraid to risk or mistake, that’s why I like to experiment. I am venturing into new brands to also experience how other brands feel. So, next one up in my review is New Balance Fresh Foam 880v11👟.
What began as nothing more than a spark of a thought has now taken shape before us, alive and undeniable. We didn’t just imagine it, we lived it, we felt it, and we proved that a simple idea can become something powerful when we dare to believe in it. This journey reminds me that every dream starts quietly, almost invisibly, yet with courage, effort, and heart, it grows into something that touches our lives and inspires us to keep reaching for more.
At the top of the Double Pass (northern), my brother Firuz asked me about our estimated plan of when we will be reaching the finish. Based on the information we had, I said: “Best plan is we reach by 7 PM, given or taken plus/minus 1 hour.” Little I knew how things could go wrong so fast.
