When you Google the word "Exosphere" you will find the following definition "
The exosphere is the uppermost region of Earth's atmosphere as it gradually fades into the vacuum of space. The air in the exosphere is extremely thin - in many ways it is almost the same as the airless void of outer space."
Now, why would on Earth you Google such word. Well, tomorrow, 31.12.2022, I am running my last day of this run and total distance ran during 2022 will amount to 10,000.00 km. If you divide this by 365 days, you will get a little over 27km/day. That's a lot of running for average person. Believe me. It hurts to run these kinds of distances and it will callous you mentally and physically, unless you are prepared to embrace such pressure.
So it was interesting for me to check my end-year stats and see if I went upwards where would I reach. Aaaaaand the answer is Exosphere. Continuing definition: "
This is the outermost layer of the atmosphere. It extends from the top of the thermosphere to 6,200 miles (10,000 km ) above the earth. In this layer, atoms and molecules escape into space and satellites orbit the earth."
To put into perspective, my elevation gain for 2022, according to my Strava, is a little over
81554 meters. That's 81.5 km. Well, at this height you would reach, if I am not mistaking, somewhere between upper Mesosphere and lower Thermosphere. A lot of astronomy terms today. Huh. 😅
Three years ago, when I was getting serious into running, I mean not so serious but just serious face, I had discussion with my nephew Hamroz. During our conversation, we thought what was the Earth circumference distance and if I ran every day, how long it would take me to do round trip around the globe. Well, I don't know the exact answer and I am not even trying to set a goal to reach one. For now, I am just going to sit back and relax a little bit after humongous distance I ran in 2022.
Happy running everyone🏃♂️🙌
