Today is 1111th consecutive day of my running. For some it might just look like pretty numbers in form of 1111 numbers. No emotions, no feeling or comprehension behind those numbers. For others who wants to be disciplined, build a habit or run injury free - meaning of those numbers changes like day and night.
Back to the question of why I keep running? There are two versions of me. The one that doesn't run and the other that runs. The difference between these two individuals are quite stark. The version that runs, is a positive individual, healthier, wiser, more confident, more compassionate, more grateful, more helpful, more focused, more disciplined, more exploring, more adventurous, more enduring, more patient, more and more and more. Because running not only helps you to be healthy but it has incredible benefit on your mental state. Running makes you feel happy, not all the time of course, but most of the time. That previous sentence also depends on how you run. If you run hard every day, then you are going to hate running. if you take it easy and slow, the more you enjoy the process of running. Whenever a human being gets physically active, it immediately affects the person's mood and changes his/her view for the better. That's why I love my running version than my non-running version.
That's why I have been running for 1111th consecutive days and on because it makes me happy. Last but not least, it might help some complete strangers become better version of themselves because they see you, even without you knowing it, and they start believing in themselves. That's so empowering.
Keep running and stay positive no matter what life throws at you.
